FUA boundaries are hidden. GISCO geometry is awaiting public reuse clearance. Country outlines provide geographic context; city markers do not show FUA boundaries or fine-scale indicator distributions. Drag to pan, scroll or use + / − to zoom; choose a city to fly to it.

Moyenne annuelle sur les zones Urban Atlas locales; ce n’est pas une surface FUA harmonisée.

Values come from the canonical H-D-A-R panel, which remains provisional research. H05/H06 use local Urban Atlas geographies; GHSL uses FUA boundaries and different allocation methods. Their periods, methods and perimeters are not harmonised. Missing values remain unavailable; none are imputed.

Socio-economic candidates remain unvalidated and are not promoted as a city comparison.

POPULATION · EUROSTAT FUA

Population through time

Annual population on 1 January, where published. Gaps are left empty; the line connects consecutive unflagged observations only. This series remains provisional while geographic and cross-country comparability checks are pending.

7 407 4935 555 6203 703 7471 851 873019892025

Unmarked gaps are years with no published observation. Flagged points are shown without connecting lines: b break in time series, d definition differs, e estimated, p provisional. Values are not imputed. A city reference point is not a FUA centroid or boundary.

Eurostat, dataset urb_lpop1, indicator DE1001V, population on 1 January. Annual observations are available for 24 of 25 FUA codes in at least one year from 1989 to 2025; coverage differs by city and year. Vienne (AT001F) has no code in this dataset.

All displayed values are provisional. Flags are preserved from Eurostat. The 17 added markers are GeoNames city reference points (CC BY), not official FUA geometries; the GISCO geometry identity, vintage and public redistribution rights remain pending. The display does not support neighborhood-level or causal interpretation.

CHANGING CONDITIONS · H06A

Explore 76 annual heat snapshots.

Annual counts of days with daily maximum 2 m air temperature ≥ 35 °C, averaged across each FUA by exact fractional area. Move through the available years; this series is not the separate H06 WSDI specification.

Status: RESEARCH / BUILDABILITY. Formula/source pipeline evidence is documented; the historical output series still needs reproducible receipts before promotion. This territory-level aggregate is not a neighborhood heat map, observed personal exposure, or causal health-risk estimate. H06A evidence and remaining gate.

Separate H06 snapshot definition

The earlier H06 panel contains a different annual count series for 2005, 2015 and 2025 over local Urban Atlas areas. It is not the H06A FUA area-weighted series above and is not the pre-registered WSDI method. The three data contracts must not be merged.

H06 snapshots · ERA5-Land daily maximum · ≥ 35 °C · 0.1° ARCO grid (~9 km native); available values are spatial means of per-cell annual counts.

PILOT 8 · EVIDENCE NOTES

What the current panel shows.

Five descriptive observations from the canonical panel. They are not a ranking, a causal explanation or a claim that different geographies are directly comparable.

01 · HEAT SNAPSHOTS

Madrid’s reanalysis-derived hot-day values differ across the three sampled years.

11,98 in 2005 · 26,23 in 2015 · 28,02 in 2025.

H06 · area mean · days/cell/year · local UA geography · discrete years only.Source run →
02 · HEAT SNAPSHOTS

Athens records a higher value in 2025 than in 2005 in this reanalysis-derived snapshot set.

7,1 in 2005 · 8,45 in 2015 · 14,95 in 2025.

H06 · area mean · days/cell/year · local UA geography · not a continuous trend.Source run →
03 · HEAT SNAPSHOTS

Helsinki’s H06 output is zero in all three selected snapshots.

2005: 0 · 2015: 0 · 2025: 0 days ≥ 35 °C.

Reanalysis-derived values on local UA geometry; zero in these snapshots does not establish absence of heat exposure.Source run →
04 · AIR QUALITY

2024 PM2.5 values span from 4,55 in Helsinki to 12,95 in Warsaw.

Athens is also near the upper end at 12,92 µg/m³.

05 · CITY SCALE

The 2025 GHSL population projection ranges from Grenoble to Paris.

These notes are descriptive observations; no causal claim is tested. No cross-domain interaction is estimated because H05/H06 use local Urban Atlas areas while GHSL totals use FUA boundaries and different years. Socio-economic indicators remain outside this comparison until coverage and definitions pass review.
